No Surprises Act
At Javery Integrative Wellness Services, we are committed to transparency and ensuring that our clients are fully informed about their healthcare costs.
The No Surprises Act, effective as of January 1, 2022, is designed to protect clients from unexpected medical bills, particularly for services provided by out-of-network providers in emergency situations or at in-network facilities.
What is the No Surprises Act?
The No Surprises Act aims to prevent clients from receiving surprise medical bills for:
- Emergency services, regardless of whether the provider is in-network or out-of-network.
- Non-emergency services provided by out-of-network providers at in-network facilities without the client's informed consent.
- Services provided by out-of-network air ambulance providers.
How Does This Affect You?
1. Transparency in Billing:
- You will receive clear and detailed information about the costs of your therapy sessions.
- If you have insurance, we will inform you about which services are covered under your plan and any potential out-of-network charges.
2. Good Faith Estimate:
- Uninsured or self-pay clients will receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before receiving services.
- This estimate includes the total expected costs of any non-emergency services, ensuring you have an understanding of your financial responsibility upfront.
3. Dispute Resolution:
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than the Good Faith Estimate, you can initiate a dispute resolution process.
- More information on how to resolve billing disputes can be found on the [CMS No Surprises Act website](https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises).
